Disaster Recovery

This guide outlines disaster recovery planning and procedures for your FinHub API integration in production environments.

Overview

A robust disaster recovery plan ensures business continuity in the event of system failures, natural disasters, or other disruptive events. This document provides guidance on preparing for and responding to such events.

FinHub Infrastructure Redundancy

FinHub’s API infrastructure includes:

  • Multi-region deployment
  • Automated failover mechanisms
  • Regular backups
  • 24/7 monitoring and support

Redundancy Planning

  • Implement retry logic with exponential backoff
  • Consider multi-region deployment for your applications
  • Maintain backup endpoints where applicable

Data Backup Strategies

  • Regularly backup critical transaction data
  • Implement reconciliation processes
  • Store backup data in geographically separate locations

Disaster Recovery Testing

We recommend regular testing of your disaster recovery procedures:

  • Simulated outage drills
  • Failover testing
  • Backup restoration verification
  • End-to-end recovery testing

Communication During Outages

  • Subscribe to the FinHub status page
  • Set up automated alerts for API status changes
  • Establish internal communication protocols for outages

Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)

FinHub maintains the following RTOs for different service levels:

  • Critical services: < 1 hour
  • Standard services: < 4 hours
  • Non-critical services: < 24 hours

Business Continuity Planning

  • Document alternative processing procedures
  • Train staff on manual processing if needed
